When I was a boy I lived and breathed baseball. I played ball every day, either with friends or by myself. I dreamed of becoming a MLB player, but of course that didn’t happen; I just didn’t have the athletic ability to excel at baseball, and eventually I lost interest in the sport. I moved on to other pastimes I could do well at: writing, playing guitar, and becoming a proficient trial lawyer. I don’t even follow MLB any longer, although I’ll go to a few Tampa Bay Rays games each season. My favorite player is Kevin Kiermeyer, who is the guy in the top photo I posted here today. Is he gorgeous, or what? And he’s a nice guy too. 🙂
This second player is Kris Bryant, who plays for the Chicago Cubs. He’s a really good player, but more importantly he’s cute as hell. (I’ll have to catch a Cubs game next season …)
It’s cold on the island this morning, like in the mid-50’s and windy. So I skipped my morning beach walk so I could stay warm inside. I’ll spend my morning writing new material for my novel-in-progress. At one PM I’ll meet with a carpenter who will perform repairs to my house. Once he’s squared away I’ll drive into the city to visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. I’m not sure what’s on tap for tonight. We’ll see.
Have a nice Monday, everyone.
