One of my goals I hope to achieve during 2017 is to complete a triathlon. Despite the fact I’m an old guy who just had both his knees replaced 18 months ago, I think I can do it. A triathlon requires a 5K run, a 1/2-mile swim, and a 14-mile bike ride, if I have my figures correct. Right now I run two miles three times per week. I swim 1/4-mile three times a week, and I can ride my bike 14 miles, no problem. So maybe by mid-summer 2017 I can achieve my goal. We’ll see …
One of the great things about triathlons is the sights you see when you attend one. I mean, look at the guys in today’s photo posts. Pretty amazing. What? You think they’re too skinny? Hey, I’ll take slender over beef any day of the week. 😉
I’m up early this morning, after watching entirely too much football yesterday. But I got some yard work accomplished as well, and some housework too, so I wasn’t a total slug.
It’s very foggy on the island this morning, I guess because the air temperature yesterday was unseasonably warm, while the Gulf’s temperature remains cool. Thus we have fog. In just a few minutes, right after I complete this post, I will leave the house for a three-mile walk on the beach. It’s a daily ritual I try to stick to, a means of getting my head ready for the day ahead. I’ll do some writing this morning, after I get back from my walk. I have to meet the cable guy to change the service in my vacation rental next door. Then, after lunch, I’ll drive into the city to visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming.
I’m not sure what’s in store for my evening, but maybe I’ll visit my timeshare down the street for a soak in the hot tub. Have nice Monday, everyone.
