Yesterday afternoon our local opera company staged a Christmas concert, complete with orchestra, soloists, adult chorus and youth chorus. It wasn’t all Christmas music, but just the right blend. I think I enjoyed the youth chorus most of all, kids form age nine to about fourteen performed, and they were so spirited. I left the concert hall feeling great, and ready to celebrate Christmas with my boyfriend and his family, up in Wisconsin.
Of course, we have a Christmas tree here as well, with presents beneath it we will open when we return from Wisconsin about ten days form now. It’s like we are having two Christmases, really.
I know some people are jaded about Christmas; they think it’s too corny and commercialized, but I disagree. If you focus on what’s important: friends, family, good food, and nice Christmas music, it’s a pleasure. Thant’s what I think, anyway.
I have a quiet day ahead of me. Right after lunch I will drive into the city to visit the YMCA for my usual workout and la-swimming session. Then I’ll return to my lovely little island to enjoy sunset from my observation deck. I’ll enjoy a few glasses of wine, and maybe spend a little time gazing at our Christmas tree while our sound system plays Christmas tunes. It’s the kind of day I always like to spend at this time of year, nothing to exciting. Just peaceful.
Oh, the guy to the left here is Brazilian fashion model Francisco Lachowski, who I’ve always thought was the world’s most beautiful man, but this Alex Pettyfer guy whose photos I posted a couple of day ago may be edging Francisco out. 😉
All right, everyone, I have household duties to perform before lunch time, so I will clsoe this post by wishing all of you a wonderful, pre-Christmas day.
