The photos I am posting here this morning bring back a lot of memories. When I was a teenager I lived in a beach community. I spent most of my days barefooted and wearing nothing but a pair of swim trunks. My best friend was named Curtis; we did everything together. Our relationship had nothing to do with sex. Curtis was straight. But we had a special way of relating to each other. We were always cracking jokes and laughing about the world around us.
Curtis lives near Ft. Lauderdale now, and we don’t really stay in touch anymore. But I still have fond memories of our boyhood days and the good time we had as teenagers. Hey, we even roomed together at the University of Florida.
I think everyone deserves a best friend, especially during adolescence when the world can seem like a hostile place. Anyway, I really like the two photos I’m posting here, and I hope you like them too. 🙂
My boyfriend arrived here from Tallahassee around nine PM last night. We got to spend a few pleasant hours together before hitting the bed, and then I woke up next to him this morning, which felt so good. It’s a little past eleven AM right now, and I cooked us a nice breakfast before we read the newspaper on the back porch. The sun is shining and a breeze is blowing. IN a few minutes I will take a three-mile walk, here on the island, while my boyfriend works on a paper for school. We’re attending a wedding around five PM today, and then a party afterward, so we’ll stay busy.
Have a nice Saturday, friends, wherever you might be today. And if you have a best friend, be sure to give him or her a call. It’s important.
