I never miss the diving competitions when the summer Olympics are on TV. They are my favorite events, for obvious reasons: the guys are sexy and wearing only tight-fitting Speedo swimsuits like the guys in today’s photo posts.
I mean, check out this guy to the left. He is so beautiful and graceful. Aye-yi-yi …
I woke up at 2:30 this morning, and then I read for an hour until I felt sleepy again. I’m reading a complex novel by Umberto Eco, and Italian novelist who is freakin’ genius. The main character is a guy who is a professional document forger in Paris and a lover of fine foods and wine. I just started the book last week and it’s slow going, but I love Eco’s attention to detail and his snarky outlook on the world around him. I finally got back to sleep around 3:30, and then I slept until nine. Crazy sleep pattern, eh?
It’s another beautiful April day outside: sunny, about 75 degrees F, and a little breezy. After I read the paper and enjoy two cups of freshly-brewed coffee, I’ll take a three-mile walk, here on the island, for a little exercise, and to ponder where my life is headed, now that my boyfriend and I have split up. I’m still feeling pretty lousy about the situation, but it’s time to move on.
Since today is Friday, right after lunch I will climb into my Honda Element and drive into the city to visit the YMCA for a workout and a lap-swimming session. The exercise will do me good, as will the camaraderie with my friends I know there.
Have a nice Friday, friends, wherever you might be.
