Every once in a while I strap my surfboard on to the roof rack on my Honda Element, and then a cruise over to the east coast of Florida–to Brevard County, specifically–to spend a couple of days surfing. I’m not a good surfer. In fact I’m not very athletic at all. But I still enjoy getting out on the water and riding a few waves. Surfing is a unique experience. It really gets you in touch with nature: the ocean, the sky and clouds, the breeze, the sea birds, and marine life.
I woke at seven this morning, and fifteen minutes later I was out the door to take a three-mile walk on the beach down the street from my house. It was beautiful down there: sunny and warm, but a nice breeze kept things cool enough.
Now I’m back at my home and ready to do some writing. After lunch I’ll visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming, and then I’m hosting a friend for dinner tonight. Have a nice Wednesday, everyone.
