I live on a barrier island on Florida’s Gulf Coast. The Intracoastal Waterway is thirty yards from my front door, and the Gulf of Mexico about 100 yards form my house, so I’m surrounded by water, and by boats of all description. Of course, I have my own boat I keep at a marina near my fishing camp.
I think boating’s one of life’s great pleasures, and it’s funny how you can put a young man on a boat and next thing you know he’s not wearing any clothes, like our friend to the left here. How would you like to spend time below decks with him? Aye-yi-yi …. 😉
Dinner last night turned out great and I really enjoyed my friend’s company. I went to bed around eleven PM and slept like a sack of rocks. I woke around eight this morning, and after I fixed breakfast I got busy writing fresh material for my novel-in-progress which has reached 51,000 words and is not close to being finished.
I’m done writing for the day. I’m laundering my bed sheets and my duvet cover this morning because they need it. I have some housecleaning to do, and also some yard work to take care of. My back patio’s looking a little shabby right now, so yesterday I purchased a few bags of mulch and a flat of flowers I’ll plant in pots on the patio to brighten things up. Now that our summer heat is fading, the flowers should do fine.
Outside it’s overcast and breezy, perfect weather for yard work. So right after lunch I’ll get busy out there. My Florida Gators play LSU at 3:30 PM, so I’ll be on the loveseat with a beer at kickoff time. Go Gators!
Have a nice Saturday, everyone.
