Hi, friends and readers:
I crashed early last night, I was tired. But I”m up early this morning and the sun is rising over the Intracoastal Waterway, just steps from my front door. The sea gulls are crying and when I walked outside for my newspaper I could hear waves slapping the beach, about 100 yards from my home.
I love my little island and all the sights that come with it. The photo I’ve posted to the left is typical of what you’ll see at my beach on weekends. There’s a private college about five miles from my home, and the students there frequent the beach near my place. Isn’t higher education wonderful?
I’ve got a busy day ahead. First I must get my yard in order — that’ll take all morning. Then I need to unpack, buy groceries and get a haircut. Then I’ll take a three-mile run. I’ve got a stack of mail to go through as well. When you are gone from home for three months, things get kind of rough around the edges, but I’ll have things under control soon enough. I can’t believe it’s already September. Football season’s underway and the kids are back in school an the days are growing shorter. It’s still pretty warm here in central Florida, but the weather will cool in mid-October and then there is no finer place to be.
Have a nice Tuesday, everyone.
