I woke up this morning, peeked through the Venetian blind next to my bed, and … Oh, no … More crappy weather. It seems this El Nino phenomenon is responsible for what is clearly the ugliest winter Florida has seen since records have been kept. Typically, in February, we’ll have sunshine and a high temperature of around 70 F/20 C. But today, for instance, it’s overcast, windy, and the temperature’s around 55 F. We have an 80% chance of rain. Great. You see, we who live in Florida endure our unbearably hot summers so we can enjoy the wintertime. This year, there is nothing to enjoy. (Okay, rant over ….)
Do you like the photo I’ve posted this morning? Nothing like watching handsome young men skinny dip in a spring, right? They look like they’re having fun, don’t they? There’s something about getting naked in the outdoors that is liberating, I don’t know why.
Okay, today I’ll work on my Maine story, then it’s off to the YMCA for a workout, a little basketball, and lap-swimming in the pool. I have errands to run in the city afterward, then I’ll make dinner for myself and a guest. So, I have a full day ahead.
I hope the climate’s better where you are. Last night I chatted with someone in Vancouver, where the Winter Olympics are taking place, and he said the weather there was quite nice. I’m jealous.
Enjoy your Friday, everyone.
