Trapper hats and birthday cake …

Hi, friends and readers:

The photo I’ve posted here this morning I posted once before, about a year ago (9/16/09). I’m putting it up for a couple of reasons:

(1) The young man’s sexy as hell and . . .

(2) Let me explain:

Last February I traveled to Toronto, Canada to visit a friend. Needless to say, it was really cold up there: highs around 30 degrees F, lows around 15 degrees F. I wore a heavy jacket, long underwear and gloves, but I didn’t own a hat. Everywhere I went I saw guys wearing hats like the guy’s wearing in today’s photo. When I asked my host what these hats were called, he said, “They’re ‘trapper hats.'”

My boyfriend’s a native of Wisconsin, and several months back I told him I wanted a trapper hat. I said I thought they looked really cool. He said he’d look around next time he was up north.

Yesterday was my birthday. We had a nice party at my place with my mom and a few close friends. My mom made dinner, the guests brought food and snacks and we all enjoyed a few drinks before dinner. Then we had cake for dessert. My guests brought gifts. My boyfriend gave me more than one gift and my favorite was, of course, a trapper hat. I love it and can’t wait to wear it someplace when cold weather comes.

It’s another beautiful fall day today: breezy and sunny and warm. I’ll do some writing this morning. My boyfriend has to work this afternoon, so I’ll be spending time alone, which is okay. I have much to do in the writing department, doing edits and working on promotional stuff. I’ll probably take a run around four PM, then take a walk on the beach.

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone.
