Merry Christmas from Martin; it’s a beautiful day on the island …

Hi, friends and readers:

Sorry I’m posting so late. It’s already 6:30 PM in Europe, 12:30 PM in Florida. I stayed up late last night, following my Christmas caroling adventure.

I spoke on the phone with friends and read by the fireplace a bit. I wrote my post about the end of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.” Then, next thing I knew it was past midnight. (Oh, no!)

My boyfriend called me this morning from Minnesota. It was so good to hear his voice. He’s doing Christmas morning with his parents and brother, then they’ll make a five hour drive to share Christmas dinner with his grandmother. It’s very cold up there right now. The high today will be around fifteen degrees F, the low around zero. (B-r-r-r …)

It’s a beautiful day here on the island: sunny, about 70 degrees F, and almost no wind. It’s perfect weather for a run. I’ll do a little writing today, and a bit of housework, before my run. Then I’m having Christmas dinner with neighbors and friends. These are some of the people I am closest to and it’ll be a fun evening. Maybe we’ll do a little singing if I bring my guitar?

Thanks for the Christmas greetings I received from people all over the U. S. and Europe, Australia and New Zealand, too. I’m glad my writing gives people pleasure.

Merry Christmas, everyone. Enjoy the day, wherever you are.
