Everyone like this evening’s photo post? Aye-yi-yi, look at that behind. And he has such nice skin and hair. This was obviously take by a professional. I wonder if it’s part of a series? If so, I’d like to see the rest.
I’m home from the YMCA and the beer/wine market. I had a good workout today, and my own lap lane in the pool. What could be better? (Okay, if the young man in the photo at left had been swimming in the lane next to mine it would’ve been even better. But …)
Outside, it’s muggy and hot. I’m hiding out in the air conditioning, taking care of correspondence and sipping from a cold bottle of beer.
I received a comment this morning from a skateboarder named Matt, age 17, who lives Pasadena, CA. He said:
“I first started reading your blog about a year ago. You used to post comments from gay skaters all the time, but I haven’t seen many lately. How come?
“I have told two skater buds I’m gay and they were totally cool with it, but then I’ve known them since I was in sixth grade and I knew they wouldn’t give me any shit. I’m not so sure about other guys we skate with. I think I’m better off keeping my sexual orientation to myself. I don’t really need to broadcast the fact I’m gay to everyone.”
Thanks for writing, Matt. The reason I have not posted many comments from gay skaters in recent months is simple: I haven’t received many lately. They seem to come in waves. Now that I’ve posted your remarks, I’ll likely hear plenty from the gay skater community in the next few days.
Okay, everybody: tomorrow I’ll post the final installment of Fuck Me … Please. And then, in just a few days, I’ll be making my 1,000th post since I began this blog in 2008. I’ll have a special surprise for everyone who stops by that day. It’ll likely be Wednesday or Thursday.
Enjoy your Monday evening, all.
