Sad boy in a shower; pretty sunset on the island tonight …

Hi, friends and readers:

Have you ever cried in the shower? I have. It’s necessary when you are sharing living quarters with family or friends who wouldn’t understand the reasons you’re blue. So, you flee to the bathroom, turn on the shower and weep while the pounding water drowns out the noise you are making.

I wonder what’s troubling the young man in tonight’s photo post? Has his lover dumped him? Was he fired from his job? Did he flunk out of school? Or does he think the fact he’s gay has condemned him to a life of unhappiness? We’ll never know, I suppose. But I hope he’ll work things out, poor lad.

It’s a beautiful night, here on the island. My boyfriend and I visited the shore for sunset-watching with our neighbors. You should have seen the colors in the sky — greens, golds, reds, and tangerines. A light breeze blew and it was so nice. Our good friend served us a glass of red wine afterward, and we enjoyed a nice chat while the breeze blew off the Intracoastal Waterway. We are so lucky to live here.

I’m not sure what’s on tap for tonight. Monday Night Football? Netflix movie? Snuggling on the back porch? Whatever my b/f wants is fine with me. As long as I’m with him, I’m fine. Have a nice Monday evening, everyone.
