When you were in high school, did you have a job? I did. I worked at a service station, pumping gas, doing oil changes and fixing flat tires. It didn’t pay much, but the money enabled me to own a car and wear the kind of clothes I wanted. When I came across this morning’s photo post, it took me back. He’s a cutie, isn’t he?
I’m up early. In a few minutes, my boyfriend, his dad and I will drive about 70 miles north to play golf at a pretty, 18-hole course near the town of Brooksville. It looks like the weather will cooperate: a high of 80 degrees, sunny and still. I just hope I won’t embarrass myself with my crappy play.
Thanks to all of you who wrote me about last night’s “coming out” rant. When I saw that Maupin quote, it stirred something inside me.No one deserves to be in the closet; it’s a cruel place to dwell.
Have a great Friday, everyone.
