BDSM fiction. How come it’s so popular?

Hi, friends and readers:

Why is BDSM fiction so popular? Does the desire to dominate, or be dominated, dwell within each of us? If so, why?

The BDSM pieces I’ve written have all done well. You can even read one for free. It’s titled Closet Case. Just check the free fiction titles in the sidebar at right; you’ll find the story there.

This morning, a reader sent me a question. He asked, “Why can’t I buy your story, Passion Play, at the Torquere Press website? It used to be available there. I bought a copy last year, but lost it when my hard drive crashed. Will you sell me a copy?”

There’s a simple answer: my two-year contract with Torquere, governing publication and sales of Passion Play, expired a couple of months ago. I’ve decided to include Passion Play in a three-story anthology, featuring tales with BDSM themes. I haven’t written the other two stories yet, so the book won’t come out for a while. But I’ll let everyone know when it publishes, via post on this website. How’s that?

And, no: I’m not in the book-selling business. I’d have to, keep sales records, collect taxes and all that sort of thing. Sorry, I’m just a writer, not a publisher or retailer. Please be patient.

It’s a nice Saturday evening, here on the island. I’m going to prepare a baked ziti casserole tonight, one of my favorites. Although I’ll dine alone, I make take the leftovers to a friend’s tomorrow night, for a basketball-watching party.

Have a nice Saturday night, everyone.
