Hot guy in military garb; surgery time for Martin …

Hi, friends and readers:

Do you like the young man in this morning’s photo post. I never served in the military; I never had a desire to. But if I could have shared quarters with a guy like him, I’d have signed up for sure. Aye-yi-yi, what a body. I’d even let him wear his dog tag to bed if he wanted to.

I’m up early today. I’ve already taken my two-mile walk on the beach. Sadly, I can’t eat breakfast this morning because I’m having arthroscopic surgery on my left knee, about 10:00 AM today. It’s not a big deal; I had the right knee done last September. The whole thing only takes a couple of hours, and then my knees will be in much better shape. This is the reward I reap from many decades of distance running.

Later today, I’ll be resting with my left leg elevated and wrapped in ice packs. Oh, boy. What fun. But my lovely boyfriend will be here to take care of me. (“Hey, handsome, bring me another beer, will you please?”)

It’s a beautiful Spring day outside: sunny, dry and about 72 degrees. A nice breeze is blowing from the north. Of course, I won’t be able to exercise for a few days. Even then, I won’t be able to swim laps until my stitches come out. So, I’ll spend a lot of time at the keyboard, getting work done.

Have a nice Thursday, everyone.
