There’s a reason I didn’t post this morning. My boyfriend and I were busy cramming his possessions into my Element. That took a couple of hours. We drove 2-1/2 hours south, to our little island. Then we had to unload the Element, and then put everything up. Now, we’re done, and while he’s taking a shower, I’m writing these words.
Everything has happened so quickly, I have not fully absorbed these changes, but I know it’s a good turn of events, having my boyfriend home. I’ll miss visiting Gainesville, but I won’t miss the drives, and I won’t miss waking up alone in the morning.
It’s a pretty afternoon, here on the island: sunny, dry, and breezy. The temperature’s around 75 degrees F, and we should have a nice sunset at the shore around 7:45 PM.
Tonight, we’ll prepare a simple Easter dinner, including leftover baked ham my boyfriend saved from his workplace in Gainesville. I’m afraid we didn’t have time to prepare Easter baskets for each other, as we normally do, but that’s okay. Being together is quite enough, and instead of a chocolate bunny to savor, I’l have my boyfriend to smooch with. What could be better?
Happy Easter, friends.
