A few days ago, I wrote about a slender young man who works at the Gulf front grille I walk past every morning. I’ve seen him there many times during my walks; he has a nice smile and he’s friendly, but I’d never seen him without a shirt until last week. Okay, he’s skinny, but he has a bit of muscle in his shoulders and arms, and his belly is flat and ripply, with the thinnest of happy trails spilling from his navel and into his board shorts. He looks very much like the guy whose photo I’ve posted on top today. Cute, eh?
Anyway, he was working this morning, setting up beach chairs and cabanas, and again, he wore no shirt. As I walked by, he waved. Aye-yi-yi. I must be living my life right or something, to have such luck. I wonder what his name is?
It’s been a productive day for me. I spent almost three hours editing my work-in-progess, a 105,000-word novel. I drove to city hall to buy parking permits for my summer tenant, and stopped by a thrift shop to buy used golf balls at a bargain price.
After lunch, I visited the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. I don’t normally go to the YMCA on Thursdays, and I was surprised ot find the place nearly empty, especially the pool, where I was one of the few people swimming laps. I even had my own lane. Amazing …..
On my way home, I stopped by Home Depot to buy mulch. I’ve hired a day laborer to come to the house Saturday. He’ll perform a multitude of projects I can’t or won’t do myself, due to the heat and exertion involved. He’ll dig up unwanted plants, pull weeds, lay mulch, and that sort of thing. He’s a good guy and a hard worker, so it works for me.
I’m home alone tonight, ready for a relaxing evening. Maybe I’ll visit our timeshare down the street for a moonlit dip in the pool. Doesn’t sound too bad, does it? Have a nice Thursday night, friends.
