This coming Sunday is Easter, which marks the end of the Spring Break season in central Florida. All the lovely college boys will return to their schools to resume classes and deal with the dreary weather up north.
I always have mixed feelings about Spring Break ending. The college boys are wonderful to look at when I walk along the shore at the beach down the street from my house. I mean, check out Mr. 7 Up to the left here. Isn’t he cute? But I won’t miss the insane traffic we’ve had, here on the island, over the past month.
I spent a quiet night at home by myself last night. I did some reading and watched The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC. Then I hit the bed around 10:30 PM. I think I fell asleep in less than five minutes.
It’s a breezy day, here on the island. The sun is shining and the temperature will rise into the mid-70’s by noon. I just finished writing fresh material for my novel-in-progress and in just a few minutes I’ll take a three-mile walk, here on the island, for some exercise. When I return home I’ll make myself a simple lunch and then I run a few errands. I have household bills to pay and a few chores I need to perform before I take a two-mile run around four PM.
This evening I will drive into the city to spend the evening with an old friend. We’ll drink a few beers and buy some takeout for our dinner. We’ll swap stories and have a few laughs. Old friendships are the best.
Have a nice Tuesday, friends.
