If you follow this site, then you know I live in one of Florida’s prettiest beach communities, on the Gulf Coast. Normally, our water is crystal clear and the sand at the shore looks as white as table sugar. And there’s nothing more delightful than taking a stroll along the shore to check out all the college boys running around in their swim trunks.
Sadly, right now no one is using our beach because the Red Tide has invaded our part of the Gulf of Mexico. This is a type of organism that kills fish and other sea life like turtles and manatees. All the dead things wash up on our shore, stinking like crazy, and it’s nasty as hell. So, no boys on the beach right now. 🙁
I spent a pleasant evening last night with a good friend, sharing a few beers and some tasty Greek takeout for our dinner. I came home feeling a little tired after all the household project I tackled this weekend, so it wasn’t long before I hit the bed and drifted into dreamland.
I was up around 8:30 this morning, and at nine I was at the keyboard to write fresh material for my novel-in-progress. I wrote for two hours, and then I spent a few minutes making phone calls to schedule appointments with various people. I have a whole list of projects I want to tackle in the coming months, and it’s time I got them underway.
This will be a typical Monday for me. Right after lunch I will climb into my Element and drive into the city to visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. I’ll visit a wine shop and supermarket on the way home, and then I will spend a quiet evening at home.
Have a great Monday, friends.
