When I lived in my fraternity house in college, all the guys bathed in gang-style showers. No modesty there. Many of my brothers were athletes with amazing bodies, and I always looked forward to shower time in the evening. Watching water stream down all that smooth and sinewy flesh was nothing less than stellar. 😉 Okay, I was a wicked little fag, but so what?
I’ve had a very busy day, it’s the reason I am posting at close to six PM. My handyman arrived at nine AM this morning, with two projects to complete. The first was installation of a new, metal screen door on my front porch. The second and more difficult task was to trim the Travertine marble on my living room fireplace, which involved him using a small circular saw while I sprayed water on the blade. I put down drop cloths in advance, but the marble dust flew everywhere and took me a while to clean up.
Now everything in the living room is back to normal and I am able to clean the glass in my fireplace’s front panel, so one can clearly see the logs inside glowing. I’ve put this project off for years, and now it’s done. I’m so happy. 🙂
Around 1:30 PM I took a three-mile walk, here on the island, for some exercise. The weather was amazing–sunny, breezy and about 76 degrees F. It felt great being outside and breathing the fresh air.
On the way I passed a a home being remodeled and I asked the owner if I could come back and gather some scrap lumber to burn in my fire pit. He said, “Sure, why not?” So I came back with my car and loaded up. You can’t beat free firewood, can you?
I spent 90 minutes doing yard work after my return, and now everything looks good.
This evening, I am having dinner with an old friend at our favorite Italian restaurant. They have a “Wine Wednesday” special where you can buy a bottle of wine for half-off, and I’m really looking forward to our meal. I’ve known my friend since middle school, and he’s a retired lawyer like me, so we never run out of things to discuss.
Have a great Wednesday night, friends. And don’t forget to take a shower. 😉
