Lover boys, sharing life; more cool weather on the island ….

Hi, friends and readers:

Do you find the photo to the left here as charming as I do? I think it’s so cool how gay weddings have become so common these days, but they still fill me with a sense of pride and awe. Just look at the two guys in the photo. You can tell they are very much in love, can’t you? And they’re so cute.

The weather yesterday afternoon was quite chilly, but I forced myself to climb into my running clothes and jog two miles for exercise. After I showered, I drove into the city, where a friend and I dined on tapas before attending a movie, The Green Book. What a marvelous film: great screenplay and superb acting. The film has a lot of humor and a good deal of poignancy too. It’s a period piece, set in 1962. I was a boy back then and the producers really captured the feel of that era, especially in the Deep South, where I grew up.

Okay, the guys to the left here aren’t wearing tuxes or suits, but I still think the photo is heartwarming. You can tell the young men truly care for each other, can’t you?

It’s another cool and sunny day, here in central Florida. A steady breeze is blowing and the temperature’s around 60 degrees F. I woke at eight this morning, and it wasn’t long before I was at the keyboard, writing fresh material for my novel-in-progress. It’s a lengthy story about hurtful loss and learning to fight for the person you care about most. I love the main characters and the settings–Florida and small-town Indiana.

Now I am through writing for the day, and lunchtime approaches. Right after I dine, I’ll head to the YMCA for a workout in the fitness center, and maybe lap-swimming if I can get a lane in the pool. At this time of year, with all the snowbirds in town, I often can’t swim, which always leaves me feeling less than satisfied. Oh well, if that’s my biggest problem, I’m a lucky guy.

Have a nice Wednesday, everyone. And keep smiling, it’s important. 🙂
