At this time the year, it’s cold and dreary in many parts of the world, but not in west central Florida, where I live.
It’s March first, and that’s the beginning of Spring Break. Soon, my island’s beaches will be crowded with lovely college boys wearing little but swim trunks, and it’s something I always look forward to. I’ll take walks on the beach most every day, to take in the sights. 😉
I went to bed pretty early last night, but woke up around 4:30 AM. I got myself a bottle of water and read my John Irving novel, In One Person, for about 90 minutes before I finally fell asleep. Then I didn’t get out of bed until 9:30 AM. I hate it when that happens, but it often does. 🙁
It’s another picture perfect winter day, here on the island. The sun is shining, the temperature’s around 72 degrees F, and there’s no wind blowing. I already know our beach will be packed with sun worshipers today, and that’s okay. Maybe one of the guys in today’s photo posts will be down there. 😉
Today will be a typical Friday for me. Right after lunch, I will drive into the city to visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming session. I didn’t visit the YMCA on Wednesday because I had responsibilities here at home, but I always feel guilty when I skip a gym day. I’ll have errands to run after the Y–a visit to my CPA and to Home Depot, and then I’ll come home to spend a quiet Friday, here on the island. Nothing too exciting, but after my Mardis Gras trip last weekend, I’m fine with quiet.
Have a nice Friday, friends, wherever you might be today. And keep smiling, it’s important. 🙂
