I live in a beach community on Florida’s Gulf Coast, and at least three or four times a week, I’ll take a three-mile walk for some extra exercise beyond my usual regimen. Our beach is popular with students form our local college campuses, and especially on weekends, groups of young men populate the shore wearing little other than swim trunks. It makes for interesting walks.;-)
Yesterday, after a very busy morning doing three hours of yard work, I spent my afternoon running errands and getting a haircut. The air was so hot and humid, I felt exhausted by the time I arrived home. I took care of paying bills that had stacked up during my three-week absence, and then I prepared dinner–baked salmon with a sweet potato and a spinach salad. No sooner had I finished dinner and cleaned up the kitchen, did my eyelids begin to droop. I ended up in bed with a book, and slept a good nine hours. I guess my body needs to re-acclimate to the Florida summer’s heat and humidity. But at least my yard and patios look nice now, and things are back to normal.
Right after lunch, I’ll take one of my beach walks. I have some editing to do when I return to the house, and around four PM I will take a two-mile run, here on the island. A friend and I plan to get dinner out, and maybe visit my timeshare afterward for a dip in the pool, if it’s not storming.
Have a nice Saturday, everyone.
