I had never attended a wrestling match until my nephew got accepted into his high school’s wrestling squad. I always went to his meets, to offer my support for his efforts, and I quickly learned how rigorous wrestling is. Training and diet are the key to winning on the mat, and the guys who care about their sport sacrifice a great deal to become their best.
Several years later, I befriended two high school seniors who co-captained their school’s wrestling team, and I tried to attend as many of their matches as my schedule allowed. Now, almost twenty years later, we are still close friends.
Anyway, if you ever get the chance, attend a high school or college wrestling meet, and you’ll see how hard the guys have to work to win. Plus, they look pretty amazing in those singlets they wear. 😉
Last night, after I ate dinner, a friend and I visited my timeshare down the street for a swim and a soak in the hot tub. A nearly full moon was up and we were the only persons present. I enjoyed a cup of wine while we were there, and when I got home I gave my little boyfriend in Kansas City a call. (He’s visiting me in early October.) We spoke for about 45 minutes before I rang off and climbed into bed. I read a James Baldwin short novel for a bit, then went to sleep, and I did not wake up until 10:30 this morning.
This over-sleeping is driving me crazy, and I guess the hormone replacement medication my doctor put me on two weeks ago is not working very well. I’ll give it two more weeks and then I’ll see my doctor again. All this sleeping is hampering my productivity and I don’t like it one bit.
All right, everyone, I need to get things done around here, so I will close this post by wishing all of you a very pleasant Tuesday.
