When it comes to surfers, Maui’s Matt Meola is one of the greatest. Plus he’s so damned cute. Sadly, Matt hasn’t been tending to his appearance in recent years. Buy a shaving razor, Matt.
It’s been a strange day. I slept until close to one PM. I made myself a sandwich, and after I ate, I took a two-mile walk on the beach. The temperature down there was warmer than I’d expected, but I finished my walk. Then I took a dip in the Gulf, and the water was…brisk.
Anyway, I came home and rinsed off, then I watched a little television–football and MSNBC news. Now it’s six PM and I am freshly showered, ready for a nice evening. A good friend is hosting me and another friend for a barbecue dinner and wine. Yummy …. 🙂
I have surfed since I was 14 years old, and I love the sport. But my knees won’t let me do it anymore. It’s a physically demanding sport, and great exercise, which is why surfers tend to have amazing bodies. The sights on the lineup are stellar. 😉
I had a nice birthday dinner last night–lobster and filet mignon. Then I watched the World Series which, sadly, did not go the Rays’ way. Well, maybe we’ll win tonight.
I slept in late today, and after enjoying a nice little lunch, I solved the L.A. Times crossword puzzle, a tough one. Now it’s two PM and I am trying to decide if I should do a home workout or take a three-mile walk on the beach for exercise. The weather’s pretty nice outside, and I will probably see some tasty sights at the shore–boys running around in their swimsuits.
I’m having barbecue at a friend’s house for dinner tonight, and I am looking forward to hanging with my friends. I spend so much time alone these days, self-isolating, and I’ll enjoy the company.
